You can also pick up your share on Saturday or Sunday if that works better for you.  However, just note that the bread is delivered fresh on Thursday and Friday. Pickup Days are Thursdays and Fridays except for the week of Thanksgiving: The pickup days are as follows:

What kind of soup will I receive?

Each week will feature one farm-made, plant-based soup made with vegetables from Nourse Farm and prepared by Assunta’s. The featured flavor will change throughout the six-week season.

Can I choose my soup?

The featured soup is selected by the farm and Assunta’s each week. One soup flavor will be offered as the CSA soup each week. Additional flavors will be available in the farm store.

Can I buy extra soup?

Absolutely. CSA members can pre-order additional quarts of the featured soup of the week for $13 each when ordered the week prior.

Other soup flavors will also be available for purchase in the Farm Store for $15 per quart, while supplies last.

Can I freeze the soup?

Yes! Our soups can be frozen, so you can enjoy them later.

What kind of bread is included?

Each week, you’ll receive either a baguette or small boule from Craft and Crumb Artisan Co., a local artisan bread company. Bread will be delivered to the Farm Store each Thursday and Friday.

Can I order extra bread?

Yes. CSA members will have the opportunity to add extra bread to their weekly order, including additional varieties of baguettes and boules and our own multi-grain sourdough loaf, white and cinnamon breads. Additional selections and pricing will vary.

Where does the produce come from?

Your Fall CSA will include produce grown right here at Nourse Farm, along with a selection of vegetables and fruit from other local Massachusetts farms. We grow as much of our own fall produce as possible, but every farm has its specialties—and sometimes Mother Nature has other plans. To give you the variety, quality and abundance you expect from your CSA, we supplement our fall harvest with produce from trusted local farm partners. So while every item may not be grown at Nourse Farm, you can feel good knowing that your produce is sourced from farms within 100 miles of Nourse Farm—keeping your food local, supporting fellow farmers and bringing you delicious, farm-fresh produce throughout the fall.

How does the produce point system work?

Each week, you’ll receive a set number of points based on the size of your share. You can use those points to select from the available farm-fresh vegetables and fruit, giving you the flexibility to choose what you’ll actually use and enjoy.

Can I pick up my share on the weekend?

Yes. While regular CSA pickup is Thursday and Friday from 2–7 PM, Saturday and Sunday pickup is also available, except for Thanksgiving week.

What happens if I can’t pick up my share?

Please email Jen@noursefarm.com if you know you’ll be unable to pick up your share a particular week. We’ll do our best to help with alternate arrangements. Shares can be delegated to friends and family if you are unavailable to pick it up on a particular week.

Can I change my share size during the season?

Yes, you can change your share size during the season.  Email us at jen@noursefarm.com and we will prorate and adjust as appropriate.

Is the Fall CSA a good fit for a family?

Absolutely. With three share sizes to choose from, you can select the amount that best fits your household. The larger shares are especially well suited for families or households that cook frequently and need some ready-to-go meals!

Is the Fall CSA only for Nourse Farm Summer CSA members?

No. Anyone can join the Fall CSA.

Has the Fall CSA changed from previous years?

Yes! While we’re shifting our focus to soups, fresh bread, and fall fruits and vegetables, we’ll still have plenty of farm-baked pies, jams, and other delicious goodies available for purchase for yourself or for sharing as gifts.

What ingredients are in the bread?

The classic baguette and the classic boule are made with bread flour (unbleached hard red wheat flour, enzyme), water, and Himalayan pink salt. They do contain wheat/gluten. However a slow fermentation process is applied for natural levain without any commercial yeast. This process does make it gentler on the belly for those with gluten sensitivities as the gluten is naturally broken down. We would not recommend for anyone with true celiac.

Why should I join a Fall CSA?

Because local food doesn’t have to end when summer does.

The Fall CSA is a simple way to eat well, support local farms and enjoy the harvest for six more weeks—with a little soup and fresh bread to make it even better.
